Really like this MOD however I discovered today 10/4/21 that it will stop you from joining online servers (jnc SEF) with a "Connection to Server has failed" error using the github Master Server patch fix ( -patches/tree/master/swat4stats-masterserver) and/or GameRanger client. I know this as it was working fine for me and my bro then stopped working (this was the only thing different between our games). After a lot of detective work to pin this down, I undid the GEM mod and it works (simply renamed my old 'TEXTURES -copy' folders in CONTENT and CONTENT EXPANSION back to TEXTURES and renamed the HD ones so they would not be seen by the game)
The mod is an overhaul of all aspects of the game, except for the graphics. New pieces of equipment, improved AI, restored cut content, quality of life features, and modern amenities such as widescreen support were added to the game.
it has many many interesting features that was never in any other mod. I think we dont need a new SWAT title (only for those who need new graphics but graphics arent important). With all the mods we have for SWAT 4. It is also possible to combine the mods to have a more featured and better graphical SWAT 4 version. It needs modding knowledge but it isnt THAT hard.
I saw the swat 4 remake 1.3 dropped, had a little go last night, lots better, and non latex uniforms now and you'll notice expanded campaign maps: (4:35....colt45. always makes one surrender).
I recently started using BI forums, to share my missions, and also gather some information on weaponry sound design so I hope I get enough of it and resume the patch, thus bring fresh sounds and graphics to Swat 4 finally.
I also read a book, and started testing my audio design skills with newer games (ArmA 2 missions, check Armaholic USMC Sweepers by me, more to come) And I'm glad that so far I can actually design sound effects based just on snippets of information, which is a big go ahead for the S4 patch as well. As soon I'm done with some missions and complete testing, I should be able to resume the sound patch work, design some game graphics (those will be optional) and release it.
Bigger was maybe the wrong word. It needs more volume and a much a more visible color that u can see on any background texture, smoke and when the flashlight is on. So red would be my choice. The size of the current crosshair in swat is for 1 of the 4 lines that make the crosshair about 3mm x 0,3mm. The length is ok. The width tho needs to be increased.
A recommended patch with no known side effects is provided by swat4stats.com. Just download Engine.dll corresponding to your game version, replace the file in System directory with it, and the server list will be visible again.

Nvidia recommends a GeForce RTX 3060 (opens in new tab) at minimum, in order to play Portal RTX at 1080p on high graphics settings, and it's likely the same story if you want to enjoy either Max Payne, Half-Life 2 or SWAT 4 in their newfound RTX version.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is my top recommendation. I played very little of it back when I had it on Xbox 360. However, I totally regret overlooking it. When you play it in 1440p well above 100 fps on PC, it's tough to put down. It's rewarding as you rank up and highly addictive if you overlooked it like me. The graphics hold up in higher resolutions. The one thing going for it on the Xbox One backwards compatible version is that it's a bit more populated. So jump in and kill. Lots of fun.
So sad, that it's 2019 and we don't have much choice in the games of tactical shooters similar to SWAT. Most similar to SWAT 4 what I found was Takedown: Red Sabre, but it got negative reviews, graphics also don't look good and multiplayer was almost dead even when I played it few years ago. Seems like the genre I'm seeking isn't popular anymore
But as I stated, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 in 1440p well above 100 fps on PC is tough to put down. The graphics hold up in higher resolutions. It turns old graphics into more modern graphics. Sure it's old but it's new if you've hardly played it and it's even more new in 1440p. And the multiplayer is definitely not dead(as shown above). I play it 3-4 times a week with multiple people. You only need 4 people total and there's always at least a few dozen people online. There's also playing through the campaign which is similar to that of Swat 4, this I assure you. It's as tactical as it gets and you earn nice tactical gear in both the campaign and multiplayer(they both carry over).

That game in second video seems to have already outdated graphics and it's a big no for me, but Ready or Not looks very similar to SWAT 4 with good graphics. I'll dare to say it's looks like a SWAT 5 just with a different name and different developer. This is the exact game I was looking for, thx Intransigent! Will keep an eye on it, don't want to preorder yet, also I wasn't able to find it on Steam. I hope they put it there, because it's my favorite game platform, plus it gives me games with much cheaper prices due to my region (mostly 10-15$).
SWAT 3 was met by positive critical acclaim, with praise toward its graphics and AI sophistication. A sequel, SWAT 4, was released in 2005, developed and published by Irrational Games and Sierra owner Vivendi Universal.
SWAT 3 received "favorable" reviews according to the review aggregation website GameRankings.[9] Praise was lavished on the graphics, along with the AI of enemies and civilians and team interaction.
PC Gamer rated the game 91% and said: "All the best ideas from other squad based games, shoehorned into a police setting, perfectly."[22] GameSpot commented that "SWAT 3's most impressive feature has to be the amazing artificial intelligence employed by friend and foe alike" and praising the graphics and level design, but criticized the lack of multiplayer in the initial release, the tendency for some dialogue to repeat, the need to "radio in" every suspect or hostage secured, and the need to restart missions from scratch should the player be wounded.[16]
Tal Blevins of IGN praised SWAT 3's gameplay, graphics, level design, clean interface, briefings, dialogue, and AI (although noting an occasional tendency for computer-controlled SWAT officers to walk into the player's line of fire, resulting in friendly fire incidents). However, the lack of multiplayer and deficiencies in the game's manual were singled out for criticism.[3]
Martin Taylor of Eurogamer praised the Elite Edition's graphics and level design, and particularly the new multiplayer component, citing efficient, low-lag networking code, and singling out the co-operative mode for its effectiveness. However, he criticized some flaws in multiplayer, admonishing the WON.net multiplayer service, noting that the deathmatch game mode can be dominated by one player with a fast connection camping in one area of the map, and critiquing the ease with which the arrest-based gameplay can break down in a fierce firefight.[28] IGN's review of the Elite Edition was more positive in their review, highlighting the new multiplayer component and the new missions, but noting the presence of some bugs.[31] 2ff7e9595c
