The Stem Creator first imports four elements of a track, each previously prepared as separate audio files in a DAW or wave editor, along with a stereo master of the whole track. Once imported, metadata like stem name, album title, and stem color can be edited. Then master compression and limiting can be applied to all stems for balanced playback. After compression and limiting is adjusted, the Stem Creator exports and packs the stems into a single stem.mp4 file.
If you develop software or hardware, you can make it Stems-compatible. The Stems specifications are open, so you can download all the necessary resources needed to integrate Stems into your project. Documentation and code is included for building your own command-line Stem Creator along with a DSP library for its mastering components.

Created for DJs, producers and musicians, XTRAX STEMS automatically separates songs into Vocals, Drums, Bass and remaining music stems for sampling, practice and more! Use it to separate vocals from an entire song or isolate specific instrumentation quickly.
Created for DJs, producers, and musicians, XTRAX STEMS automatically separates songs into Voice, Drums, Bass and remaining music stems for sampling, practice and more! Drag and drop then choose to separate all four stems or focus on Acapella, Backing, Drum or Bass separations.
*Actual separation time depends on the length of the source file. A standard 3:30 song takes 45 seconds toseparate a stem. As a cloud-based service, upload and download speeds depend on your connection.
XTRAX STEMS automatically separates songs into three parts: vocals, drums and remaining music. Its simple workflow is optimized for DJs and remix artists looking to separate songs into stem components for easy remixing, sampling and a cappella creation. XTRAX STEMS 2 is equipped with an advanced algorithm offering 30 percent faster stem isolation. The faster advanced algorithm also dramatically improves separation quality, particularly when creating backing tracks and separating lead, background and harmony vocals into a single stem. Drum stems will also benefit from improved, higher-fidelity processing. This increased separation quality also reduces drum interference in vocal and music stems, meaning with XTRAX STEMS 2, all separated stems are much cleaner.
Developed by the same team behind Djay, Algoriddim has created a standalone application for its Neural Mix technology. Using the same technology as the impressive iPad application, Neural Mix Pro allows users to break tracks into individual stem tracks. With the option to chose between three stems (vocals, harmonics and vocals) or two (vocals and instrumental).
Files save in compressed AAC format or the larger uncompressed WAV. Advanced export mode allows for the user to save different variations of the track, including combinations of the available stems. For example, a user can save a version of a track with the drums and vocals together. Finally, in both modes, the software can add a prefix or suffix to the saved file name, a great time saver, especially when combined with smart crates.
Xtrax stems by Audionamix is available for both Windows and Mac. The user interface is similar to more traditional audio editing applications, such as Audacity. The application can split tracks into four separate tracks (Vocals, Drums, Bass and Other).
The bleed value tweaks how narrow or wide the frequencies of each channel can be. A tighter bleed limits frequencies from other stems being heard. All though this makes clean acapellas, it can result in un natural-sounding artefacts being present. On the other hand, a wide bleed will sound more natural, however, different frequencies such as instruments or drums may be present. Being able to tweak the bleed value is a useful tool, though for creating the best acapella possible.
Exporting options are advanced and allow for easy saving of each of the stems. Users can export in uncompressed WAV or FLAC or compressed AIFF, MP3, or OGG. The bit rate and depth of the saved file are also adjustable for those looking for advanced audio export options.
EZstems is a web-based application that is available from any modern web browser. Running the Spleeter code, which was developed by music streaming service Deezer, EZstems is an easy interface that requires no knowledge of code. Using the website, the user uploads their track or copies a link to a YouTube video and selects how many stems splits the track.
The website takes the uploaded track, runs the Spleeter code on the track and then returns the separated stems to the user inside a ZIP file. Users can choose between various MP3 and WAV quality options, and the process takes around 2 minutes to complete.
The new Advanced algorithm is 30% faster and dramatically improves separation quality when creating backing tracks and when separating lead, background, and harmony vocals into a single stem. Improved, high fidelity drum processing increases the quality of drum stems and reduces drum interference in both vocal and music stems. Fine-tune and optimize separations using the new, real-time Separation Balance feature. Use presets optimized for creating a cappella, drum, and backing tracks or create a custom balance using the fully-adjustable matrix.
Simple Stems is a quick and easy way to decompose any audio into its constituent parts. The plugin uses the well-established Spleeter algorithm by Deezer to deconstruct songs into 2, 4 or 5 stems. The results are stunning, though more complicated mixes and live recordings are not always perfectly decomposed.
Simple Stems is extremely easy to use! It loads as a plugin (for Mac) or Standalone. To get new stems you simply drop your audio on the splitter, wait a moment for the stems to appear, and then drag the stems directly to your DAW or desktop. Get new stems without leaving your flow or hopping online! Files are automatically created in a folder right beside the original audio, so you can always find them later.
Audionamix presents XTRAX Stems 2, an impressive software for extracting stems from a song. The program runs under Windwos and Mac OS and automatically splits mono and stereo files into vocals, drums and music stems, which can then be exported as separate WAV files or in NI Stems format. This results in interesting possibilities: changing volume levels / volume ratios later on, editing vocals with effects later on, using extracted lead vocals with other playbacks, muting drums to add your own new beats, and so on. All you need is a fast Internet connection, as the analysis and decomposition of a song takes place on the Audionamix server. The special: Audionamix uses self-learning AI-based algorithms, which continuously improve the quality and accuracy of the extraction.
Other features include a counter, play/pause, return-to-zero and loop buttons, level meters per stem, volume control, solo and mute buttons. The control panel is rounded off by a sum level display and master fader, as well as a balance triangle, which allows the volume ratios of the three generated stems to be changed simultaneously with the mouse.
XTRAX STEMS from AUDIONAMIX automatically separates any song into 4 individual tracks containing Vocals, Drums, Bass, and remaining Music stems. Created for DJs, music producers, and remix artists, XTRAX STEMS allows users to create multitrack content to control during live sets. Opening up possibilities for easy remixing, sampling, and acapella creation like never before. XTRAX is also useful for practicing against backing tracks, learning, and instruction.
XTRAX will separate WAV, MP3, FLAC, AIFF, and OGG files at rates up to 192kHz, 32-bit. An integrated real-time De-bleed slider can be used to further isolate stems, producing a cleaner track. Once separated, the files can be exported in the listed formats plus Native Instruments STEM file format.
Audionamix have upgraded XTRAX STEMS. It features a completely redesigned enhancement of their best-selling automatic stem creation software. New features include a brand new GUI, and new algorithms which are optimized for your specific needs, whether it be to separate all four stems (vocals, drums, bass and remaining music), to create acapellas, backing tracks, or drumless tracks for practice. Hone your separations using the new de-bleed slider on each track, helping you perfect each stem before you export! As always, our proprietary algorithms separate the entire spectrum of audible frequencies, all the way up to 22kHz! 2ff7e9595c
